Simon Harris commented on Carol Dekkers's group 'Project Success Project'
"Carl hi, I support your call for discussion. I'd suggest that for 50ish years we have seen an evolution in PM where a 'specialist' community has taken over the role of delivering change to business as usual use of capital (in all…"

Simon Harris replied to John Maddalena's discussion 'Establish an IPMA Technical Library'

Tell us a bit about yourself: What do you enjoy when you are NOT advancing IPMA? Also, please post your photo.
Actually I rather like trying to advance PM, I did try learning to fly a microlight and haven't full abandonded the idea. I enjoy food and wine and travel - so long as it's not solo travel.
I enjoy brass rubbing but it was easier on the knees 20 years ago, I also enjoy narrow-boating which combines slow travel, good beer, the odd medeaval church and plenty of reading and writing time
What PM Certifications have you earned?
PMP, IPMA-D, P2 (I was an examiner when it was essay), MOR, and CGEIT
Your favorite PM website(s), books, RSS, and other sources for Project Management Information
I find most sources other than my own regurgitate the same mistaken ideas. www.isochron.uk has really inspiring ideas but they are not obvious from the web-site.
Beck and Fowler's Planning Extreme Programming is good (and not really about programming). Surfing teh edge of Chaos by Pascale et.al. is great
