Did you see the announcement of the first IPMA Festival of Knowledge in Detroit/Ann Arbor -- http://ipmacod.ning.com/xn/detail/2052602:Event:40856

BACKGROUND

 

The Detroit area is the right place to discuss the future of project management; so IPMA's Research Management Board decided to host the 2011 USA Festival of Knowledge in Detroit, September 8, 2011.

This event is organized by Dr. Thomas Baumann, a long-time automobile industry expert and member of the board of Trustees for the German Project Management Society (IPMA-Germany).

It is sponsored by IPMA's Research Management Board and supported by asapm, IPMA-USA, the American Society for the Advancement of Project Management.

I was there from the beginning. Through the leadership of many of the 'old guys' and enthusiasm of new folks, asapm had come a long way. Even though my life's plan has taken me out of the day-to-day project management tasks, I still use what I have learned over the years in my business. I also have contacts in the PM world that I promote asapm every month. I am very proud to have been a part of the embers that lit this fire.
